TAPISRV Error

Hi A mate's laptop comes up with a system fault window highlighting a TAPISRV problem - It seems to want to connect to something as the DUN window appears, but it can't seem to go any further. He thought it might relate to MSN Messenger Service Any Ideas??
I found the TAPISRV files - should I just delete them??

Don't delete the files!!!! the problem is in the program the he is using when then error occurs. reload the program, make sure he closes all other programs besides explorer and systray this time by using ctrl alt delete one time to bring up the programs

copy over "tapisrv.exe" from a good win98/win98se system over to your friends laptop, that should fix it
