I have windows 98 SE and at least a few times a day, the screen freezes. After a ctrk-alt-del the box comes up with systray(not responding) I click the end task button and I am back in business. I have trying reloading Windows but the problem still exists.

Unfortunately, I have exactly the same problem for the last many weeks but with no solution except the above ctrl-alt-del and kill the systray task.
A solution, anyone?

Hi
I have the same problem. Windows freezes by starting up. With ctrl/alt/del I get the message systray is not responding. I use mcafee vshield. Is there somebody who knows what to do?? I have already uninstalled mcafee and installed again, but the problem is still there.
Thanks Jos

The only quick fix to avoid this problem that I could come up with is;
Run MSCONFIG and from the startup tab un-check the system tray box and restart.
