system reboots by itself

I have a new VXII Pro mainboard that will not accept any commands. The board has a new IDT Winchip 225MHZ CPU installed. The CPU was working perfectly in another system. The machine will start fine, but when you try to enter a command at the DOS prompt, like to load Win 95 or 98 from a CD-Rom, the system reboots itself. Even DOS programs have this effect. At this point, I can't seem to get anything loaded on this system. Suggestions?????????????????

IRQ depletion and possible conflict might cause the reboot. Go to Device Manager and check your situation.

remove all boards and replace the video card and retry you may have a hardware issue also check your bios and reset all to default and disable virus checker in your bios good luck
