Be very very careful flashing bios. Even a freak accident or power-cut at the wrong time could mean bye-bye motherboard, as not all provide a back-door back in to a pc that is blissfully unaware of a floppy or a display. Check BIOS first , eg plug-and-play os = yes and check autoexec.bat/config.sys for device entries. Also system.ini for vxd entries. All these are for backward compatibilty and can be 'rem' ed out to diagnose your fault. vmm32 is a composite file of all the virtual drivers windows requires for your devices nad should be the only ones it really needs nowadays , but if it sees an entry in for example system.ini , vxd section for a device which isn't there it will fail to load. vmm32 is the driver for the device you are talking about-ie system board ext. for pnp bios. Don't flash without checking this unless you feel confident.
