Hello!
My friend had installed trial version of XP and after the trial period at boot up the old dreaded message-----“unable to find boot record……invalid system disk….”

Reinstalling win98 has not helped. Can I run the sys.com command to set this right?
I have forgotten the syntax and arguments I need to give to the sys command.
If somebody can please give me the right syntax and arguments to execute this job, I’ll be more than thankful.

In this contex---- say my HDD is C: and my friend’s is D: will it be possible to copy the windows install files to D: and run setup (putting t he windows directory on D:) and run sys.com in order to install windows onto his HD properly.
[the drivers can be installed later onto his comp, the impt thing is to get the OS running]

I don’t want to format unless there’s no way out.
