Hallo everyone,
I have just upgraded to Windows 95. I have a
Syquest 135MB parallel port removable hard drive.I've run the install disc, as per instructions, but the drive has not been installed.
The good news is that I was able to install another Syquest drive on a W95 PC some time ago - but it needed a call to Syquest technical support to explain it (it was
non-obvious).The bad news is that Syquest has just gone bust.... and there is no more technical support.
I expect that I have edit the w95 equivalent of config.sys and put the system files and drivers somewhere.
I'd be VERY grateful if someone who has managed to install a 135 Parallel port Syquest drive onto w95 could explain to me what to do.
Thanks
Michael Kirk-Smith

You must run the legacy.exe program to make the drive non-PNP. DO NOT have your printer
attached when you do this!!!! Then the win95 software should install OK. You can also do the DOS install just to get the drive working. This will force the drive letter on Win 95 but you will run in "dos compatibility mode." Once the Win95 drivers are working, the dos drivers won't interfere anymore. They are needed for pure DOS operation.
