I need a symbol for the mathematical symbol pie
is their an ALTX+X+X combination?

If you are using MS Word, go to INSERT -> SYMBOL and select it from the chart.

If the other suggestions haven't worked I imagine that since pi is a greek letter, you could load multilanguage support in add/remove programs-windows setup and access it that way.
