what color set should i use
i can't advance the resolution or get more colors

You need to install the correct driver for your video adapter. Determine the make and model # and do a search.

Sylvania F91 is the model of the monitor. In order to adjust the colors, etc. displayed on the Sylvania, you need to work with the video adapter to which it is connected. As identified on response #1, the video adapter driver needs installed for it to allow the monitor to display the colors you want.
To determine the make and model of the video adapter, you can try the following:
1. Go to Start>Run, and type in: DXDIAG
If DirectX is installed in your PC, you will get The DirectX Diagnostic Tool. On the Display tab you will find info regarding the type of display adapter on the PC.2. Right click My Computer, select Properties, and select the Device Manager tab. Click on the (+) next to Display Adapters, and that will give you a general idea of the type of adapter on the PC. By the way, are there any yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager? If so, that indicates problems.
3. Download Belarc Advisor or AIDA. Either of these programs will give you info on the display adapter.
4. If none of the above produce good results, ground yourself properly, and get the screwdriver to open the case.
Post back.
