Perhaps you need the updated Flash player from Shockwave's download site.

Shockwave flash is not a program I can find on my PC (Win98, IE6sp1).

I believe (but could be wrong) that it is an ActiveX control or plugin.

Try going to IE Tools, Internet Options, Security, Custom Level and change the 'Run ActiveX controls and plugins' setting to Prompt.
You can change it back later.

The color test is pretty tough/cool.
I had seen a similar one before and it was equally tough.

Here is the other one. It is just a .jpg and will open in a new window from that link.

I will take it off of my page in a few days.

I did what you suggested, but it would not run the swf file....It prompted, and when I clicked ok, the prompt just closed...Just had the little box in the window....

Do you think it's another program, I have, that's stopping the plugin..A setting or something?

I've got that colortext embedded in an email...LOL...I just gotta get this plugin to work, in windows...

apreciate it

beansoup, Did you go to SpywareBlaster/tools/flash killer/and untick the box at disable and block Macromedia flash (4.x5.x6.x)

I could not view Bryco's color test with the box ticked got the same thing you did but can with it unticked.

Yes I just went and unchecked the box...Still can't view the swf.....I'm on this page now, and there is a lot of downloading going on...I think the player is not installed correctly, and it's downloading, although the swf URL, works in Opera and Mozilla...Can't figure that one...

LOL Yep, I think you got something there...
I use to use 5.0 and 5.5, and didn't have the problems I have now, although, this is the first one I encounted..with 6.0....
I'll keep digging. I don't believe the download coming in from the link up above..I hope it's just the player...LOL..I still don't have a flash movie displaying on that page...

colors,

Thanks...I finally viewed the swf file, in IE...It had to be one of two things...The Spywareblaster setting, or the player download from Macromedia...I did as Bryco suggested and downloaded the 8.0 version..I don't know if the player is included with that download...When I went to the flash page, Moxilla said I have to download the player plugin...( alltho' I viewed the swf URL in Mozilla) I guess that is what was happening, when I had that long download...Not sure tho'...Your suggestion to untick in flashkill (Spywarebaster) was probably stopping the swf file from loading in IE...A few reboots probably put it in action....
Anyways, we got it working...

Thanks to all

Appreciate it

Glad to hear you fixed your problem I was starting to wonder if you may be dealing with a virus?

Read this:

Virus Threatens Macromedia Flash Files
The first virus that infects files in the popular Macromedia Flash format has been discovered by the anti-virus software vendor Sophos. Sophos said it received a copy of the virus, which it has named SWF/LFM-926, in a Flash "movie" file attached to an e-mail from an anonymous source. The new virus, though in its current form a "proof of concept" with a harmless payload, could indicate a possible future trend in virus delivery, though it's more than likely that Macromedia will create a filter sometime in the near future to avoid a more widespread problem. Newsbytes has the story and additional discussion can be found in our Security Forum.

colors,

Thanks for that info..I'll get over to M/M and read up on it...I'm pretty well protected...Well, I haven't had any real problems so far...with all the garbage out there, one has to be on their toes...There sure is a bundle of good protection on the web...I think the balance is falling in favor of the protection, rather than the virus builders...:-)
Thanks for your time. The guys/gals always help me out of a hole, on this site...

In C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files I find two Shockwave items.
1. Shockwave ActiveX control.
2. Shockwave Flash Object.
You can see their Status in the next column regarding if they are installed or not.
You can also right click and select Properties to see more info about them including their dependencies.

Glad you got it worked out too.
