I recently tried to load an ISP on my sister's computer. Half way thru the set up, windows shut down and went into a safe mode and now I am unable to get out of it no matter what I do. I can't reinstall Windows because the CD Rom shuts down during safe mode. I have tried everything in the book to try to get out of safe mode but am unable. Can I use the A: drive to reinstall Windows if I have a start up disk? Please help Thanks

Have you tried to uninstall the isp while in safe mode? Also since you are already at the a prompt, try and run scandisk (space) c and press enter. When scandisk comes up make sure you have fix all errors checked. Good Luck

When the PC is booting, and says "Starting Windows 95 (or 98)" press the F8 key. it will bring up a list of options, and you can try "Normal Mode". if that doesn't work, go to "Command Prompt Only" and reinstall Windows.
