Comment:
The computer is stuck on 16 bit color with no other option except for 2 bit color. I was advised to download, install and run EVEREST to find the Video/Device description which says: Standard Display Adapter (VGA). I was also advised before that it was almost certain that I would need to re-install the video drivers. Can anyone help on how to fix this problem?
I tried looking at the ibm site for the video drivers, but i can't find anything for the aptiva 2137 drivers... if anyone knows a link providing the drivers it would be greatly appreciated.
You're not looking in the right section of Everest - - "standard" means just that - it's the generic 16 colour driver that's currently installed, and not helpful
The 'Devices' section of Everest should tell you what you need to know, but you've been spared even that minimal effort ; )

Looks like Dave beat me to it. But you asked about this a month ago...you mean in all this time you never found the correct driver?? All I had to do was pop your model number into google & I found out that you have integrated ATI Rage II graphics. Then I went to the ATI website.
.. to little effect apparently, since "urrr" didn't 'get' it then, and a whole month later still may be no further ahead
Given tube's output, he's likely answered every possible question (in advance) for years to come, making further comments superfluous
