Strange laptop Problem

I have posted before regarding a problem with running a projector off my laptop for presentations. I have an INFOCUS projector and an RM GT8000 series laptop (p3 700mhz with win 98 SE). My projector would not pick up the display from my laptop no matter what I did and I have so far tried changing resolutions and reloaded drivers for graphics (S3 Savage IX). I have the correct drivers because I am loading from the CD that came with the system. The projector works with other laptops and has no problems. The strange thing is... I have noticed in display settings that in my display devices list all I have is two entries for default monitors but no mention of the LCD. All bios setting are as normal and the graphics adapter is fine (I can attach a monitor and get that working ok). I can only assume that the problem is related to the fact that my LCD is not seen by the system and thus I only see entries for default monitors. Does anyone have any ideas how I can get the system to see the LCD and what the problem could be?

Is a Samsung GT8000 series ..... sorry..... RM is the company that supplied it. I have called them for advice but they have not come up with anything I have not already tried.

Just change your display adapter setings in Properties, change it to a Standart lcd display(and whatever screen size you got).

John that is part of the problem. It doesnt give that option. It is as if the LCD doesnt exist. Only option is "default monitor on S3 Inc. Savage/IX w/MV" where S3 Inc. Savage... is the graphics adapter.

Enter BIOS setup and change to simultaneous display instead of LCD only.
