Whenever I have stimon.exe checked to come up
on start up I get blue screen fatal error that says (OE) 0028: F000EA79.. My scanner
doesnt work sometimes I have a HPscanjet 5pse.. And when I go under device manager
and delete my scanner stuff and reboot.. It finds new hardware and that stimon.exe is in my ctr alt del box again.. I don't know if stimon has to do with windows or mys scanner.. But when I dont let the stimon.exe
come up and I uncheck it in my startup the fatal error message doesn't come up.. But then my scanner doesnt work says error (2).. Just wondering if anyone can help me please.. You may e-mail me privately.. Thanks, Rose

Might be fine to disable this.Try it and try printing. My printer uses it but its on usb.The best thing would be search hp tech support.Often they will have info and or a new driver for your device.http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/eng/support.htm

I have an HP scanner. Stimon is required for it to operate. If I remove stimon from msconfig I cannot use my scanner. I will get an error message that the device is being used by another program or something like that. There is info relative to this on Microsofts data base.
