Still no sound returns

OS: Windows 98SE
CPU/Ram: Pentium 3/ 256 MB RAM

I still can't get my sound to work. I will like to thank some people who gave me advice but they did not work. My computer says there are no conflicts with my sound card but yet no sound. If anybody have ideas please help?

Go to multimedia in control panel. Is a playback device selected?
