Startup Disk

Comment:
I formatted my computer and when I restarted it, it gave me a message saying "Invalid system disk, replace disk and press any key". Then I put in the Windows 98 startup disk and then I got another message saying "NTLDR is missing, press any key to restart". When I press any key, it just shows the same message!! How can I resolve this?? If someone could help me, that would be great. Thanks

Hiya.
You need to change your boot sequence. It sounds like you computer is trying to boot from your now formatted hardrive (with nothing there it just says wait a minute, there's nothing here, let's churn out this error message).
You need to enter your BIOS and change the boot sequence from the hardrive to the floppy drive (say from C,A to A,C). Then it will load from the start up disk first and you should be able to install from there.
You can enter your BIOS when starting the computer, usually by pressing something like F1, F2 or DEL - it should tell you as it starts up.
Good luck.

Like SK says, you should get that error message when trying to boot from a hard drive that has just been formatted. That 'NTLDR missing' error message when booting from the win98 floppy is very strange. NTLDR is an NT file and not a Win9x file. Are you sure that you have a good win98 floppy?
