When I rename the file win.com to ''aek.com'' I see this dos message ''Cannot find win.com. Unable to start windows''. I type aek.com in order to start windows. But because i want to ''protect'' my computer from lamers I want to get a message in dos like this for example ''System files are missing. Contact your local reseler'' I would like to know if there is a way to do this. I also know that it isn't a way of protection but I want my pc to look like out of order with a crashed os.

Win.com is a small file. Store a copy on a floppy and delete it in DOS when you leave your PC. Replace it in DOS when you start to a command prompt and replace it. HMMM. If it works, let me know so I can try it. Oh heck, I will go try it now on VICTIM, poor VICTIM gets so much abuse, LOL.

Sorry I took so long, VICTIM is only a P133. It worked with flying colors although the problem is obvious and some lamers may know how to resolve it.

Try doing this. You'll definitely get an error message, I just don't know what it will be:
Rename win.com as you have. Open notepad & create an empty .txt file. Name the empty file win.com
Post back with results...You got my curiosity piqued.
