OS: win98
CPU/Ram: 300mhz 128mb

When i try to start my IBM thinkpad 600 it shows how much ram there is then it says 192 or if it decides to start up it gets to windows logon screen then shuts down. why?

Error 192 is apparently a Fan Error, and they recommend checking the voltage of the backup battery. It needs to be replaced if necessary. Hope this helps.
