I have a problem which is driving me crazy. I cannot remove some spyware which keeps changing my home page to "about:blank" also I cannot open internet explorer, it gives me the following error : "EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in module <unknown> at 0000:02675bf0", the only way I can open IE is by clicking on the IE icon while windows is still loading as I start my pc, if i let windows finish loading and then click on the IE icon it will give me the above mentioned error. Apart from that when I'm surfing the web a lot of windows keep poping up....

Please help, I tried running Spybot SD, Ad-ware, Spy Doctor, unintalling and reinstalling Internet Explorer, but so far no luck.

Also some .exe programmes when I try to open them. It tells me "unexpected error" and I cannot open them. This happens for example when I try running programms like CWShredder, Hijack This...

Please help,
Thanks in advance

Bit lost tonight (on another machine with no access to my data base) but put about:blank in google. It's well known and you'll get lots of hits.

As an aside, sometime check out Spy Doctor. Not too sure if that one is dubious or not.

Hopefully someone else will help you more.

Back again.

If you've updated and run Ad-Aware and SpyBot then you might be better off to repost this on the "Security & Virus" forum.
CWShredder appears to show the best promise but I note you are unable to run this. It may have been deliberately disabled by this "nasty".

When you've cleared the problem dump SpyDoctor because the only thing it does in addition to Ad-Aware is report false positives. Not handy to remove things that are perfectly OK.

Finally download SpywareBlaster which will prevent this sort of stuff getting in.

Sorry to have to give you more info about what to do afterwards than fixing your present problem. With a lot of effort you should find the fix using Google as stated earlier.

I concur with Derek. Ad-aware, Spybot and SpywareBlaster are legitimate Spyware elimination programs that i use myself often and offer on my sire as useful programs. I would add Bazooka to that list. But man!!! I had no idea there were so many rogue anti-spyware programs out there, this blows my mind! I knew of a few, but the link provided by Derek showed me a lot more. This link will definitaly figure on my site on my next update, thanks very much Derek!
