Hello FZWG and DAVEINCAPS,
Thank you for those procedures you gave me, especially, FZWG. I went through clearing registry, downloaded the three dll file from the source you gave me, ran the cd os, and believe it or not, netsetter is still there. The six sectors of the registry was reloaded, we have three clean dll files and this infection has survived the cleansing. Could there be any other areas they could have stored this, as possibly an invisible file. I can't see why the find routine does not find marketscore, netsetter, ossproxy or nscheck. All the communication areas have been replace and spyware lives on. I would appreciate your further assistance in ridding this virus as the computer is useless for the internet,
thanking you again,
charlie

charlie,
Netsetter tags along with so many different pieces of third-party software, that it is not uncommon to get re-infected with these products again and again yielding an 'automatic configuration script' setting pointing at the Netsetter domain.
Will check out a couple of other 'fix' possibilities, but the outlook at this point does not look good.

If you VOLUNTARILY signed up for this service, go back to the Netsetter/Marketscore website, log-in using the email address and password you used to join, and unregister. Follow the website's instruction for removal.
If that does not work...
If you connect with a modem, stay away from any software that claims to speed up your net response speed. The only real way to speed it up is to pay up for more bandwidth, meaning a DSL or Cable connection.

And a good plan to start using is download an installation watching program and use it on anything you install from now on.
You can download the freeware and spyware free program Install Control 5 (Inctrl5) by PC Magazine at http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,9882,00.asp

Thank you all for your replies and help, with reference to amazon10x, I have tried, adaware, spybot and pest control with no luck. With reference to BlueFront, I had never heard of marketscore until I was infected. I did download files from the net to speedup my downloading abilities, I read or was told, now, these type of companies are paying programmers whether you pay or don't pay for software to include these spyware files in their programs, something similar to the movies where companies pay for you to see a particular brand of beer, car or whatever, on the screen, extra money for the hungry. I will download the software ixion suggested and thank you for the information.
I really appreciate and thank FZWG for the many inputs in helping me to find this parasite. We should choose what ads to get annoyed with, without the help of these leeches sneaking into our computers,
thanking you all again for your help,
charlie

Hey charlie,
Came up blank. Have no clue what else to try. Unfortunately, what you have is a cancer that metastasized. The final shot on this is a possible Format C:, and you know what that means.
In your shoes, would gather and print all the different suggestions for removal received so far. Would then re-look and re-try some of the options, just in case something was missed.
InCtrl5 looks like a good program to have, however, it appears that you needed to have it installed before this problem took hold. Don't think it is meant to clear up Netsetter.
Keep us posted on final outcome.

Thank you again for the follow-up, FZWG, they were praising someone who is very helpful to people at this site, you should be included to this elite group,
charlie

Ever heard of a dog with a bone?
Keep reading that SpybotSD fishes out Netsetter/Marketscore. However, ONLY with the very latest reference update for the program. Previous refupdates did not do the trick.
Have no idea of where you downloaded SpybotSD from, but it could be that the version you downloaded was not up to date. The latest refupdate came out a very short time ago.
Going to find out a little more info and will post back as soon as possible.

There is a hidden uninstall feature. Open a command window and enter (for Windows 95/98/Me):
"%WinDir%\SYSTEM\NSCheck.exe" /uninstall
Or for Windows NT/2000/XP just:NSCheck /uninstall

do this in command prompt. it will after a little say uninstall successful and then reboot. come up the proxy should be gone from internet options and should be able to browse. My customer could.

Sorry, it won't auto reboot must do that manually :) the proxy will be gone or be able to be removed for good now.
