Several months ago I changed the spoolss.dll file in Win98se to the ME version which solved my spool32 problem at that time. Now I can't run XP upgrade advisor without an error appearing "WINNT32 caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 016f:bff7a388." Also, I was no longer to run windows update without it stalling at 66%. I'm told it's the ME spoolss.dll causing these problems. How to replace it with the original Win 98se version?

Yes, that's a known problem.

If you have your W98SE CD just type sfc in the Run box and use the "extract" feature.

It's fine to use sfc for this file but for future use read this (it gets some wrong):
