The little speaker icon dissapears so i tick the option that says "show icon on desktop" and i restart. It dissappears, i go to tick it but its already ticked. It dissapears and comes as it pleases, its upsetting because i use this icon alot.

Thank you for your help.

Try deleting "shelliconcache" located in Windows directory. It might get corrupted. Restart, and that file will be rebuilt.

Type msconfig in the Run box. Look in the Startup tab and make sure SystemTray is ticked. On some machines if this is left unticked it can cause problems with the speaker icon.
