The sounds that are supposed to play automaticaly like the windows and ICQ sounds are not playing. I can't play any sound with Sound Recorder, but I can with another program. I've reinstalled the drivers a couple of times and it is still saying that there is another program playing sound. And there is no other program openned. Please help me!!!

OK, Here is some help:
1. Open the control panel window.
2. Click on the Multimedia Icon.
3. In the Audio tab look for Preferred
Device list.
4. Choose the Device that correspond to your
sound card driver. If you do not see it
re-install your drivers after you
remove the existing ones.
5. Reboot.........try.......enjoy!

Cracked it! Wav's are now play nicely!
My problem was in my motherboard, I have a VIA chipset and i needed a patch.
If your motherboard isn't a VIA chipset then try the other sites to download latest drivers and IRQ handlers!
Thanx

Paul Bassek.
