Can Anyone Help with a problem I have with obtaining sound?
I recently took on a major project for me which was upgrading my
motherboard. I installed a J-530CF which included a 3D PCI Audio which was
built in. This audio was to replace a SB16 on my previous set-up. I have
however been unable to get out any sound from the card.
The drivers are installed and there are no conflicts in the device manager.
The mute is off! The PCI also included a game port which is working fine.
Any help or advise would be gratefully appreciated.

Check the bios setup to see if the onboard sound was disabled.
Check all cables inside and outside the pc and to the speakers and make sure the speakers are turned on.
Remove all the drivers and the sound from device manager and start over.
The motherboard might have a problem too.

Great ideas! In addition, you may also want to switch out your speakers all together. If you ever do get it up and running, may I suggest hooking it up to a stereo? Computer speakers are just overhyped tweaters.

Similar Problems, changed Motherboard (under warranty) & still no Driver for Essolo PCI.
Interest; had conflict problems between old sis515 motherboard and Modem drivers. New Motherboard unknown.
I really do not know much about computers but my brother builds then but no good at solving these problems.

I to have a J-530BF motherboard with onboard soundcard using ESSolo-1 and it refuses to work in dos, i have tried everything, even updated the drivers and still nothing, I have been told to just disable it in the bios and install a cheap card that will work, but I want this one to work, on some games i can get music in dos but no sound effects.Maybe some of these dos games are not backwards compatible or something, even running a dos game in windows doesn't even pick up the sound!
Can someone out there help

I have had some limited success:
1. You may download drivers from the esstech.com web site. Be warned: The latest versions may not be right for your motherboard.
2. I found that my system would hang during bootup. When I removed essolo.sys and essolo.com from my config.sys and autoexec.bat files, Windows 98 SE would occasionally put them back in causing my system to hang again. My current solution is to leave the lines in config.sys and autoexec.bat and to rename essolo.sys and essolo.com to be essolo.sy~ and essolo.co~ in my root directory.
3. I have not tried DOS sound yet, so I don't know the effects (yet).
Good luck.

The file ESSOLo.vxd uncertified. Not approved by Microsoft Hardware Lab.Cannot install Microsoft Media Palyer 7.
Any suggestions please?
