I'm not that sure, but is that "82801aa" your mobo only? I can't see what sound card you have (ac 97 audio?). First I would say right click on my computer, go to properties->Device Manager. Look for your sound card to see if it's detected. If it is double click on it to see if the drivers are up-to-date. To make sure that they are click on the update drivers button (make sure you connected to the internet for this, unless you are trying to install from CD).
Hope that helps.
Kevin.

Thanks Kevin for your help!
Let me feed you all the details I recently reformatted my comp and loaded windows98. It has "ac 97 Audio" (integrated sound). It is a celeron 433mhz. The issue is that it is not accepting any drivers, and it is also not connected to the net. Its detects PCI Multimedia!
Hence i am lost since i we i researched and came to know the make of the motherboard ie. "82801aa ac 97 Audio" and cannot find the RIGHT integrated sound driver for this motherboard!
Can you help me on this?
thanks syd
