I attempted to upgrade my sound driver with a newer version. I did not disconnect my sound card as I was advised in the program.
When I restarted my machine, Win95 requested the sound driver and now I have no sound driver for my machine.
Please help

Dear John (oooh John!):
There are two things you need to do any time you upgrade a sound card driver.
1). Go into Device Manager and delete the current driver, as on bootup there will be a conflict if the old driver is still installed.
2). You should have pulled the card like it told you to.
My guess is that you now have two drivers for the card and in device manager at least one of them, if not both, have a yellow exclamation next to them, indicating a conflict.
I hope you have a copy of the updated driver on your hard disk, instead of letting the download autoinstall it for you.
My advice:
Delete both installs of the driver(s), old and new, in device manager. Shut down and remove the card like you were supposed to.
Boot back up and allow Win 95 to recognize that there is no card there. Shut down again and re-instal the card. Boot back up.
When Win 95 asks for the driver, point it to the directory (folder) where the new driver is located and let Win 95 auto-install if for you.Check device manager to make sure you have a driver now and that there are no yellowed exclamation marks by it.
Reboot the computer and voila, you should have sound!
