I'm having a problem with my creative sound blaster card. I tried to update the drivers but when I did it caused alot of problems with my computer. I'm running win98se. Now I do not have any sound. My computer says the device is working properly but no sound. Please help....

Probably best to remove the sound card from within device manager and reboot. Choose to let windows search for device driver. If you have an onboard sound chip, boot into the BIOS and make sure it is disabled.

I tried the device manager and when windows rebooted it built drivers for the sound card but I still do not have any sound

Go to control panel> multimedia> audio. verify the settings are correct. Check volumn control to see if anything is muted.

I just tried that and volume control will not load. I have tried to reload the drivers still nothing....

Typical of SB software. If you have a CD with drivers on it, try using them. Before I gave up on Creative junk, I had similiar problems trying to get downloaded drivers to work with my SB live card. Did you get the driver from Creative's site?

For Windows Vol Control go to: CP/Add-Remove Progs/Windows Setup/Multimedia
If Vol Control is already ticked: Untick it, reboot, tick again. You will need your W98SE CD.
