I'm having a problem with my creative
sound blaster card. I tried to update the drivers but when I did it caused alot of problems with my computer. I'm running win98se. Now I do not have any sound. My computer says the device is working properly but no sound.
Please help....

Probably best to remove the sound card from within device manager and reboot. Choose to let windows search for device driver. If you have an onboard sound chip, boot into the BIOS and make sure it is disabled.

Go to control panel> multimedia> audio. verify the settings are correct. Check volumn control to see if anything is muted.

Typical of SB software. If you have a CD with drivers on it, try using them. Before I gave up on Creative junk, I had similiar problems trying to get downloaded drivers to work with my SB live card. Did you get the driver from Creative's site?

For Windows Vol Control go to:
CP/Add-Remove Progs/Windows Setup/Multimedia

If Vol Control is already ticked:
Untick it, reboot, tick again. You will need your W98SE CD.
