Hej:
Am tring to put sound at work in a pentiun II. In /multimedia appears the icon in grey (not activated). The machin is an IBM with netcard and soundcard incorporated(all in one mothercard). I did once and now I donīt remember how I managed it, so I know it is posssible without adding ay other sound card. Despite BIOS sametimes gets it own way and change the configuration taken from (in 2nd start)cd-rom or inactivated to local-net. Thank.
Daniel

if it has onboard sound then simply enable it in the BIOS you may need your motherboard C-D to install the drivers or they may be on your windows C-D they will be on their web site but unless you know the exact board it may be difficult to find the right one .
but when you reboot ,windows will find new hardware or you may have to run the add new hardware wizard from the control panel then install the drivers
