The drivers should be the same. You can, however, obtain updated drivers from www.soundblaster.com, just in case you don't have the latest.

I was wondering the same thing as Matt. www.soundblaster.com has absolutely nothing in the way of win98/dos drivers. I'd like the same thing, so if anyone knows, please help.

NO! The drivers for the AWE64 are not the same between Win95 and Win98SE. You need to install the drivers from the Win98Se CD Rom.

I have the Sound Blaster AWE 64 Gold card but i don't have the CD-ROM with the driver. So, i have a problem with some programmes, for example Net2Phone.
Please, tell where i can find these drivers and downloading for me.

The problem is that the AWE64 card has only a 32 voice wavetable built onto the card and the other 32 are emulated in software. When the software wavetable is in use, it uses the same output channel that is used by digital audio and the AWE64 doesn't support more than one streamed channel of audio. If you disable the software emulation, which you can do in the software, you can play midi and hear digital audio fine.

Come on everybody: help us all out ! I have the same problem as Esa, Jaymz, Thomas G and Karma. Symptoms: no wave sound (or stuttering), systems slows down or hangs after playing MIDI (but the souns is fine), CD music is OK. What I have tried so far: checked for IRQ conflicts, put card in different slot, install latest SB drivers (Hey Mr. Creative: are they really compatible with Win98 ????), reinstall Win98, tried another SB AWE64v card which was working fine in another computer, closing all applications (except explorer and systray) then tried to play, tried both 16-bit and 8-bit DMA transfer, ... but nothing, absolutely NOTHING helped ! I was wondering could some kind of a BIOS setting be involved ? Thank you for any other suggestion !
