I use passive speakers with my SB 64 PCI card and there is no way to have sounds loud enought. The sound mixer cannot boost the sound. How can I do to have sounds louder ?

There might be a jumper on the sound card that is for "Amplified", or something similar. I can't remember the exact wording, but if you don't have amplified speakers, you set the jumper so the card amplifies the speakers, and if you do have amplified speakers, you disable the jumper so the speakers do the amplifying. I think I got that right. It should be in your sound card's paperwork, or in it's help text. Go to Creaf.com who make sound blaster if you can't find the right settings.
