Hi, everyone!

Could anyone tell me where to find drivers for my compaq presario 1670 laptop, please!!! I've already looked at the compaq site and they don't have it. :(

Hi, If the manufacturer definitely does not have the drivers try driversguide.com. They may have them.

Good Luck, Jim

Thanx everyone. I'm just letting you know I haven't gotten around to doing any of this yet but I'll see if I can do it tonight or sometime this coming week. Thanx, everyone, for all your suggestions. I'll let you know how I go. Wish me luck! :)

Hi, OtheHill!

The answer to question is yes and no. The driver's the right one but an error keeps coming up everytime I try to install it. Also, Compaq doesn't have the sound drivers for my laptop. Thus the yes and the no.

Have you tried re-downloading the files. Your original download may be corrupted.
Below are instructions on using the HP diagnostic tools. Audio is mentioned. Don'tknow why a driver file isn't included with the download. IF you can get the modem working and connect to the diagnostics site it appears the remaining drivers would be updated. Below is an exerpt from the link I provided. Your only solution may be to follow the instructions on that site.
Using the hardware diagnostics tool
Once the initial scan results are displayed, the System Health Scan provides additional support in the form of Hardware Diagnostics. To begin using the hardware diagnostics click the Hardware Diagnostics tab.

OtheHill,
I tried using the diagnostic tools but it took a very long time to scan my computer and so I didn't bother with it.

Street1,
I've installed Everest on my computer and now I have found the driver I need, but it's a zip file and I don't have WinZip on my computer. Do you know where I can download WinZip?

Winzip is shareware but the program will continue to function after the evaluation period. You need it now, why worry about 45 days from now. If you have never needed Winzip in the past you may not need it in the future.

OtheHill,
Thanx 4 that! I've visited the site and will let you know when I've installed WinZip on my laptop. I have needed WinZip in the past but that was when I was using a different computer. I reckon it's always good to keep a program that you may need now, because incase you need it in the future than it's already there. :)

Vi.
