sony digital8 memory stick software?

The above video camera is supplied with Picture Gear Lite v4 for downloading images from the memory stick to the PC- what do I need to be able to download to other graphic software such as Paint Shop pro v6?

If it downloads the pics as a jpeg or other common file then you can use the images in Paintshop. Not very familiar with this camera in general, but I'd think that it would save the images in a common format. Once the images are downloaded just open them in Paintshop. Maybe, I'm wrong, but it should be that easy. If it saves them as a different file, maybe there is a way to convert them in Picture Gear to a file that will be recognized by paintshop.
