Hi. I have a 1998 protec pentium computer with windows 98 se on it. I installed Tetris gold and a windows version of appleworks on it.I turned the hardware accelerator off,it was the only way to make the appleworks program run correctly,(advice from the readme.txt file).I forgot to turn it back on before shutting my system down. When I attempt to reboot I get the messages: Software multiple for dynamic resolution is OFF,and,Invalid drive specification. I'm told I'm still in MS-DOS and do I want to go into normal mode so I can run windows. But it won't run windows,it just keeps giving those messages. I reinstalled my windows 95 software for my one machine but don't have the installation disks for the windows 98 machine. I need some help in getting my 98 machine booting up properly again.

Go back to a good copy of the registry .
Toggle F8 ( when , verifying DMA pool message comes on ) or Press
Ctrl during bootup , depends on your computor .Select , Command prompt only .
After the C prompt , type , scanreg /restore
Follow the prompts and select a registry dated prior to the problems .

I got this after I install a mouse driver for DOS:
Software multiple for dynamic resolution is OFF
It appeared to be an advisory and not an error as everyting worked OK. I installed a different mouse driver for DOS (into Autoexec.bat) and now I don't get that message.
