The entire Internet is inundated by a cataclysm of mass E-mails triggered by the "worm" W32.SoBig.f@MM Virus

Blaster is the one that did not affect Windows 98.

SoBig does. And AVG will take care of it.

I have AVG, which indicates that I do not have any viruses or worms, however, my yahoo email account, specifically my bulk mail/spam file, is being constantly blasted with huge emails from everywhere. Does that mean I do have the virus? If not, is there anyway to stop all this Sh__ from coming into my yahoo account. Yahoo has been no help at all. Thanks!

Sorry, its later than expected, I have been busy!
Try this, this is what I did and it worked for me (although I run XPhome)
1. Close all instances of Internet Explorer.

NOTE: While registering each dll file you will get a "succeeded message". Incase if you encounter any error message, kindly let me know the exact error message. Also make sure that the command is correctly written.

2. Click Start and Run, type " Regsvr32 VBSCRIPT.DLL " (w/o quotes) in the Open box and click OK.

3. Click Start and Run, type " Regsvr32 MSHTML.DLL " (w/o quotes) in the Open box and click OK.

4. Click Start and Run, type " Regsvr32 MSJAVA.DLL " (w/o quotes) in the Open box and click OK.

5. Click Start and Run, type " Regsvr32 JSCRIPT.DLL " (w/o quotes) in the Open box and click OK.

6. Click Start and Run, type " Regsvr32 MSXML.DLL in " (w/o quotes) the Open box and click OK.

7. Click Start and Run, type " Regsvr32 SHDOCVW.DLL " (w/o quotes) in the Open box and click OK.

8. Click Start and Run, type " Regsvr32 ACTXPRXY.DLL " (w/o quotes) in the Open box and click OK.

9. Click Start and Run, type " Regsvr32 URLMON.DLL " (w/o quotes) in the Open box and click OK.

10. Now try accessing Windows Update site again and check whether your issue is resolved or not.

This issue can also occur if you are using an OKI printer or LynX soundcard. The driver of some devices make changes in the system registry which creates this error while accessing Windows Update site.
