I'm experiencing the same problems as response number 3. Please help me.......so tired of listening to cd:s, want to hear my cpu, instead.

I have the same problem as response number:4.

I have had this same problem for quite sometime. I have uninstalled win '98 twice and still no volume. If you can help me out I would appreciate it more than you know. I really do miss my sound. "Thanks alot"

About a 3-6 days ago, the same problem started happening on my computer -- everything else works fine, but WAV files don't play at all -- no games, no "desktop sounds", not even the (annoying) "You've got mail" message from AOL. After monkeying around awhile, I found out that all other types seem to be working (I ran McAffree First Aid on my sound system and found this particular file -- sndvol32.exe -- missing). If anyone can help, please let me know.

Sndvol32.exe stopped working in one user profile two days ago, but it still works in other profiles. Symptom: clickin on file nothing happens, and the icon at bottom bar is gone. BUT still only in one of the profiles... HELP...

Would it help if we save the file sunvol32.exe in a floppy disk from any pc, and then download it in our pc again? Has anyone tried this option before? If it don't work please let me know before I do anything....thks!

I had the same problem when i installed windows 98. go to www.lycos.com> do an advanced search and choose ftp. I found sndvol32.exe now everything works.

hey guys and girls. i had the same problem. my sndvol32.exe file went missing. win98 deteted it when i close the icon. I found out where to get another file. go to lycos.com and search the file. after searched, select advanced search and then search again. once completed select ftp search from the menu and search once more. scroll down the list until you see the file then click on it to download. save it to either on the desktop or in the system folder in wondows. i have mine on my desktop. the only problem with doing it this way is that you cannot setup the sound icon at the bottom of the desktop but will make ALL sounds work by double clicking on it. Once saved it will remain and always function normally. Have fun!
