Hey,
does anybody know how to configure MS Outlook to send mail using AOL SMTP server. Actually, the problem is I need to know that SMTP. Can you please help me :)Thanks,
Sergey

From AOL's website
1.What is the name of AOL's POP3 server for using different e-mail software. ?
AOL e-mail is not currently compatible with POP3 e-mail programs. However, you may use AOL Mail on the Web to read your AOL e-mail when you are away from the computer on which your regular AOL client is installed. AOL Mail on the Web is a free service from America Online, and is accessible at http://www.aol.com/.

I am on AOL and as stated above they are not compatible with AOL becuase AOL has their own special E-mail system. I was given a link to a program you can buy that will make AOL compatible with outlook but AOL does not support this 3rd party program so if it doesn't function right you can't get help from AOL. I never bothered to try it because I was told that we can only get a virus in AOL mail if we download and then open and infected file and that by trying to use outlook I would be more suseptible to a virus so I didn't bother. Here is the link if you want to check it out.

We get viruses from using AOL's email system all the time. We are trying to use Norton's Antivirus software to check the email, but it is not compatible with AOL's non POP3 mail system. That is why I am trying to find a way THAT WORKS to reconfigure AOL to utilize a POP3 email system.

AOL supposedly does not have an SMTP server. See this website:

AOL doesn't support Outlook. Check here for more info from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q243336
