S.M.A.R.T. capable but command failed...

I have a maxtor slave hard drive time i boot I received this message.......

Primary Slave: GAS64112 MAXTOR QUASAR 5400
S.M.A.R.T. capable but command failed

Pri Slave Hard Disk: S.M.A.R.T. Command Failed
Press F1 to Resume.

after pressing F1 my system continue to boot and search a flooy bootable disk.... after booting to drive a i can only access my primary master and i can access my primary slave.....

is there a way to recover my files from my slave hard drive. I really need those files please help me!!!! thanks.......

Drive Rescue should be able to help access your data to copy it to your main drive.

Go to Maxtor Downloads and get Power Max to diagnose the problems on that bad drive
