One of my co-workers has DSL with windoh's 95. When he first got DSL everything ran smoothly, but now when he tries to browse web sites it is extremely slow.(i.e. scrolling down on a webpage) I can't think of why this would be so I was wondering if anyone out there might have an idea? Thanks

For viruses I recommend norton antivirus, you can buy it for $20 at most stores.
As for adware, download this program http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10214379.html?tag=lst-0-1 . I think it is the best one out there.
Good Luck. David

Check to see how many programs start up with the computer cuz I know that at work, a lot of programs that automatically update will automatically set themselves to boot up with Windows. And the reason why your browser is slow when you try to scroll is because of not enough memory; which is why everyone else told you to check for viruses and adware.
START<RUN, type in MSCONFIG, start-up tab, get rid of uncessary programs. For instance, quick time, real player, msn, yahoo, are the popular programs that place themselves there.

Daniel-
Would memory really have anything to do with it? The computer runs fine, it is just his browser that runs slow when he is online.
thanks

Hello
It's because while online a great deal of phisycal memory(RAM)and also sysem resources are used. Besides, Win95 has a native problem with kernel32.dll memory leakage. You suppose to do first what Daniel suggested and don't forget to defrag the HDD very often. If it's to spend some money, this should be to add 32MB of RAM, but of course the best would be to buy a better machine. Nowadays you can get for about $50 a 2nd hand P2 /500Mhz /64MB RAM which will make all the difference.
