Lately when I open a program or file, it's taking a long time to open compaired to before. I scaned and defrag but it's still the same.

Have you tried this harmless old standard:

"Shut down" to MS-DOS and type scanreg /fix (hit Return). This will rebuild your current registry. Type exit (Return) to restart Windows.
