when I click on a link, type, tab, or do any kind of mouse action, the reaction time of my computer is super slow, like several seconds for each action to take place. each character I type takes almost a full second to appear on the screen. when I do ctrl/alt/del, the current programs listed are:explorer,stopzilla,navapw32,cm_camera, hpzstatx, bsclip, systray, cmmpu, wkufind. I have tried "end task" on these programs, but the problem is still there after they are ended. any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Hi Ken, hi everyone,

I don't know about several of the programs which are in memory...

I remember having to cope with a similar problem on a laptop in my company... it lasted several weeks: I cleaned, scandisked, defragged... I thought things were better... effectively it was better after a while and especially if we didn't shutdown computer at night, everything was fine!
Then I had to do that again...

Finally, the problem was due to a dead battery...

Are you in that case? laptop?

How did slowness come? suddenly? day after day?
What about viruses?
What about cleaning the system?

Have a good day,
Gérard from Paris, France

I have the same problem as ken, but my computer is a desktop, not a laptop. Of course the programs listed are somewhat different, but there's still that same slow reaction time. Thought maybe there were too many programs loaded onto my PC, but I've removed several of them and the problems still doesn't seem to go away. I'm working on Windows 98 2nd edition. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Anna
