After my last post i have been able to indentify some more key thi9ngs that trigger of my very slow 98. After being connected to the net for about 10 mins the connections slows down to completely nonthing but it stays connected. Then the whole computer slow down to it is absolutly unable to be used. So i press ctr+alt+del and it takes 10 mins for that to appear and it say that taskmon it is not responding. and then if i press ctr+alt+del again it dosent rest just sits there. I have checked my cpu tem it is sitting at around 36degrees is that ok? Down know where this is related but in msconfig it has automatically changed by start up to selective startup and i have always had it on normal? what could be going wrong, i have not had any viruses lately nor any trojans it has me stumped my lasy post was 131239 in case thate helps

Thank You!

make a log of it using sysmon. Go into your start menu, and type sysmon, then look for something that looks like a white notepad and press it. See what ur CPU usage is. It might tell something.
