Hi,,
I have a problem with my audio and video files while I play them in windows media player or winamp, it is that the audio and the video keeps on skipping even if my resources are very high, I use windows media player version 9 (final) and when I play mp3 files on my real player they work fine without any skipping

If you are playing VBR (varible bitrate) mp3's that aren't CBR (constant bitrate) mp3's forget about using Windows Media Player and use a different player that truely supports VBR mp3's.

As for the video problem if you don't have a powerful enough graphics card that could be the source of choppy video. Then again Windows Media Player above the 6x version range is bloated and choppy on alot of non Win2k/WinXP machines.

Check in the preferences to be sure that the player is using your audio card versus your standard audio device.

I do not use WMP so I can not direct you to where to find these settings.
