Well I format a lot it's a obession hehehe. Ok any ways my hard drive seems too be making more and more noise after every format, when it loads a program it will load quite half way in then just burst out this loud thump type noise and it's LOUD. Can someone tell me what are the signs of a hard drive that are about too die? Right now its about 10x slower and like I said making a lot of noises.
Also is it possible too wear out a hard drive when you format alot? ive only used this hard drive for like maybe two months.

Well, does Scandisk show any error for example?. That would give you a clue, although that program sucks :). What model is your hard disk?. Old drives used to make big noises... and do you know if its well attached to the computer bay?.
Anyway, I'd like to ask you something: Why do you reformat your drive so often????????????
Andrés

A hard drive that makes an abnormal noise is usually on it's last legs.
Formatting often should not wear out a drive.

Yep, sounds like it's going...
Better consider getting your data off of it before it's gone. Bought a new hard drive last month. Much less expensive than I thought and very quiet-running.

Ok thanks guys I have a spare hard drive thankfully.
Andrés, I reformat a lot because I usally install stuff I have regrets of installing (like kazza) and certain other programs that can slow a computer down. I find the best way too get rid of the problems is just too reformat instead of spending hours and hours trying too get it back at what it once was.

Before this post gets off the page to where no one will ever, ever see it...
Instead of re-formatting, just keep the registry clean and defragment often. If the drive is fragmented regularly, the disk readers won't have to work so hard and the drive will last longer. Also, if you keep a lot of large files, such as MP3 or photos, create a seperate partition for this data - defragmenting will go much faster and the partition with the operating system will run smoother.
