shutting down windows 98 (WIN95)

Everytime I shut down I get a window (WIN95 RPC Wmsg Window) that appears and I mean everytime, I either have to click wait, end task or cancel to close window, any help is appreciated...Thanks Rocky

Run msconfig and check the startup tab for something that looks like that.

When you get into msconfig-startup look for these two items: Yahoo Messenger and/or MSN Messenger And uncheck it/them.

Hi everyone, Rocky has this message at shutdown, not at startup! If you uncheck Yahoo! Messenger or MSN Messenger in MSconfig/Startup tab, then, you won't be able to use them any more!
I don't know how to fix that, but I know that you have to click on the 'end task' button.

This alleged to be a result of a conflict with spyware, particularly Webhancer. Check out http://www.vnunet.com/ReadersToTheRescue/18501 for more info. Note that I haven't yet tried their suggestions myself.

I had this same problem. I found it was caused by a program in IE6 called Load WebCheck (Loadwc). Use Ctrl/Alt/Del to see if Loadwc is running and close it. Then go to Windows/System and delete Loadwc, but save the file somewhere in case you need it.
