Hi. I need some help...is there any chance to use "show desktop" under windows 95b without IE4 desktop update? Like i can use some shortcut like it is "windows + D" in win98 with desktop update.
I was searching the net but i`m stucked.
In win95 i can use "windows + M" for minimizing all the windows, but i think "windows + D" is better and faster for me to use it as shortcut...Or if there is any chance to replace "windows + M" with "windows + D" shortcut.so guys please help me. Early thanks.Skakerche

The Desktop Menu feature might be of interest - part of W95 Power Toys here:

Not quite what you are after but it seems it puts a menu of your desktop items on the taskbar. Might be worth a try if you haven't already.
I don't know of any fiddle for W95 to achieve what you are after without Quick Launch, which is part of IE.

If you do have Quick Launch I did spot some script fiddles which looked likely when I was googling around. It is also possible, it seems, to produce a desktop icon on Quick Launch.

Hehe, thanks Derek for ur effort, but i have already tried W95 Power Toys and that isn`t what i want. I just want to use "win + D" instead of "win + M" as a shortcut, without having quick launch toolbar with IE4 desktop update :(. But it seems that i want too much from Windows 95, don`t i? Hehehe. Anyway i`m glad for your reply. I don`t want to give up, so i`ll search the net again for solution :)

Another possibility is to use a key memoriser program. There are some around (I recall Winkey). That way, for example, you could arrange for a sequence of keys to get to the desktop via Windows Explorer.
I know what you mean. On W98SE I abandoned the shortcut in favour of Win +D myself. I still use this on XP.

Ok,I`ll search the net now for that "winkey".I hope i`ll find something interesting. Thank you again Derek.

One word of warning, if you happen to decide on Winkey and run registry cleaners, one of them (I think it was RegSeeker) cripples it.
Not a big problem, you just don't let registry cleaners remove any Winkey entries. It does prove that registry cleaners can definitely get things wrong at times tho.

hehe i searched the net for some winkey programs. And found a lot. I tried some "HotKeyz" named program and it seems ok. But it doesan`t minimize all the windows at once, just 1 by 1. Well, isn`t everything i need, but i guess it`s ok. now i can use the shortcut "Win + D" hahaha. And thx for reminding me bout registry thingy.

The prog I had in mind was this one:

(but I expect you found it).Ah well, alls well that ends "fairly" well I guess
