I would appreciate any help with an error message we are getting when trying to use our Visioneer 6100b scanner. We recently installed Windows 98 second edition and now the scanner does not work. It worked fine before with the original Windows 98. Now when trying to start the scanner we get the following error message:
The shell32.dll file is linked to missing export SHLWAPI.dll:SHRegGetUSValueA.
I am not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, so I apologize if this is too easy a problem for some, but I would really appreciate any help.
We have an AMD -K6-2/333 processor on an Acer Aspire.
I don't even know how to uninstall, install, or reinstall. I'm sure this is an issue that has been addressed before, but I tried the searches and could not find anything to help me figure out how to solve the problem.
Thanks very much.

You have a file version conflict.
Your scanner software probably replaced a newer shlwapi.dll with an older version.
Look in your Windows\system for something like this:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHLWAPI._BKIf it exists you have to go to DOS to re-name the backed up file shlwapi.dll
reghakr

DOS-prompt? Just right-click on the file and select "rename".
This does not always work, if your Windows does not show standard file-extensions, but for your own security, you should _always_ select Win to show all the extensions. This makes things a little bit harder for the LOVELETTER.TXT.vbs-type virus-authors.
