I got system from a guy, he installed new printer software, printer has a USB so he went in and enabled the USB in CMOS. Restarted the system and now has a "Configuration manager cannot load because one or more of the files is not present or has an invalid version number. VMM.VXD, SHELL.VXD, VTD.VXD, VXDLDR.VXD, VpICD.VXD, VwIN32.VXD" This system will not go to Safe Mode but eill go to Prompt. I have tryed from the prompt to restore to couple days before the problem with no luck. One boot it goes through the normal stuff than asks what mode to start in, click normal or safe and it goes to the Win 98 load-up screen and the into the config management....... etc etc then turns off to the "It's safe to turn off your computer"
