Yes, it's true. Remove File and Printersharing from within the Network neighbourhood properties. Or disable File and Pritersharing, with Poledit or by editting the registry. Disable File and Printer Sharing (All Versions) When file and printer sharing is installed it allows users to make services available to other users on a network, this functionality can be disabled by changing this setting. Open your registry and find the key below, if it doesn't already exist then create it. Create two new DWORD values named "NoFileSharing" and "NoPrintSharing" and set the values to either '1' for sharing disabled or '0' for sharing enabled. Both settings do not have to be the same, it is possible to have one disabled and the other enabled. Restart Windows for the change to take effect.
