Howdy, This can be done but you do need extra software to make it work. I am having brain dumb at the moment though. Go to any search engine and do a searh for basicaly what you placed in the subject line here and you should find what ya need. Sorry for the brain dumb.

It's from working too hard Kev.
Mayur, VSocks Lite allows modem sharing, it's free with no strings attached. Read the readme that comes with it.

Hi, I use "Rideway 5.03", after trying several programs I found this one to be the easiest with the most step-by-step instructions.

This is not a comment...but a question!(a quest for me).
I'm trying to figure out how to use "1" modem to connect 2 computers to the internet.
I have installed "NETGEAR..FA310TX" Fast Ethernet PCI Cards to my 2 computers.(peer to peer).
I am able to share files with the 2 computers.....but I can not figure out how to share the 1 modem, so both computers can share the internet.
Can somebody HELP!!!!ME?

The easiest way to share a modem is to buy "Wingate" over the net. The price is around U$S 40.00 for a home version.
There are other programs like Sygate that you may try downloading evaluation version (30 days expire period).
Also: if you like messing around, have a look at installing a Proxi Server.

OK ! I wanna tell you what I've experienced. I have a local network of 2 PCs with Windows NT 4.0 Workstation SP5 and I share my connection to the Internet through a single modem. I've download a evaluation software from Artisoft that is i.Share 3.05. It's very simple to use and manage. I tried also ModemShare from Artisoft. With the difference that both PCs are sharing a modem that is used alternatively but simultaneousely. Here, I was unable to share the connection at the same time.
Tell me, please, if I missed to complete 1 thing to succeed simultanuous sharing.
Awaiting your reaction or advice.

The easiest way is with a proxy server on almost any network enviroment, winproxy works, is cheap and easy to install configure. Also check out MS Windows 98 it lets people on a network share a single internet connection, it's also easy and comes free with Windows 98SE.

For most people with other software(OS) winproxy will do the job for internet connection and yes both or more can be connected at the same time.
