When I ran SFC I got the following message File cool.dill may be corrupted in C\WINDOWS\SYSTEM, is this the problem and what does this file do? Thanks running 98 on 300meg Pent II w/64

Cool.dll is part of MS PLUS, and is associated with cool stuff for windows. Restore it from your PLUS CD.

That file is part of a W98 Plus application type. Any file that may be corrupt should be replaced, especially Dynamic Link Library files, (not .dill but .dll)which are often shared with more than one program.
Part of what specific problem are you referring to. SFC & Scandisk & hard drive problem doesn't specify what the "problem" is.

loopO: Scandisk stops a 7% on reg and 51% with a boot disk in, error says hard disk is seriously damaged and may have to be replaced!!
