Well, I used to Love computers till mine started to drive me crazy! (Don't get me wrong, still love'em, just not mine!) Well, Here goes, any solutions would be awesome!
1. A couple internet sites say "illegal operation, will shut down" then "Internet explorer will shut down" pops up and Only that window closes. Was only www.ebay.com, now it's added www.yahoo.com homepage to the list!
2. LimeWire (media downloader) freezes up quickly usually after it's pulled up for a few minutes.
3. "brain fart" lol whoops

well, thank you much for you help!

I did a quick search of "LimeWire" and found the following :

It really doesn't say that limewire itself is foul but is bundled with stuff that is.

I would recommend SpyBot Search and Destroy, and AdAware, these two programs will help rid your system of SpyWare/Adware. If you have problems running this try booting in safemode and running them from there.

I would also check into an up to date antivirus product, if you don't have one already. I can think of two off the top of my head that are free for personal use:

http://www.avast.com - Follow links to the "home edition"

http://www.grisoft.com - Follow links to Free Edition

Lime wire is a peer 2 peer program, otherwise known as a file sharing program. As many users use p2p to exhange files that they don't have the rights to, and is popular with inexperienced user, malware authors consider them to be fair game as well as an easy target.

Personally I eschew P2P.

Spybot S&D and AdAware will control most of these tag along parasites. The remaining ones will be inconsequential or too new for the scanning engines to recognise. Be warned, some of the malware will fight tooth and nail to prevent you from installing and running these programs. They will generate all sorts of error messages.

If you find yourself in this situation, You'll need to use the three fingered salute (CTRL-ALT-DEL) to kill every running process except explorer.exe and your antivirus program(s). Systray is optional but perhaps you should leave it alone.

Internet Explorer is another possible cause for your problems. Performing a fix on this is often beneficial and rarely problematic. In control panel, go through the motions of uninstalling IE until it gives you the option to epair it. It will check its files and replace any that have changed.

You might also consider trying Firefox or another browser and see if they have problems with those websites as well.

Good luck.

After running the Spyware/Adware checks and scanning your entire drive for viruses you may very well want to just reinstall IE.

This often resolves many issues in Windows.

After all is well you should also make sure that your running a firewall.

ZoneAlarm has version that is free for personal use: http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/catalog/products/sku_list_za.jsp?lid=dbtopnav_pro

I am assuming that your PC has enough resource to handle On Access Virus Scanning and ZoneAlarm at the same time.
